At GREPP, we believe in the power of collaboration, especially when it comes to working with talented bag makers who can transform even the most basic sketches into functional products. Our recent project began when Jan realized there was no off-the-shelf bag that suited his vision for a minimalistic design to fit perfectly on his Cinelli Neo-Retro road bike.
With Jan’s incredible 376km ride—the longest he’s ever done in one go, we set out to create a custom bag with Ewelina from Baby Legs Bags who we appreciate a lot and are truly grateful to know her.
Sometimes the best ideas start as the messiest sketches.
That’s exactly how this project began — with Jan’s vision of the perfect vacation bag. A bag that wasn’t just functional, but tailored exactly to his needs, his bike, and his upcoming adventure.
He knew what he wanted, but let’s be honest: our drawings looked more like doodles than design plans. Arrows, squiggles, rough outlines — each mark was a attempt to capture the features Jan had floating in his head.
The first sketches pointed out the most essential details: shape, closure, and fit under the saddle.
Next came adjustments on how the bag should contour to the bike — the curve at the bottom, the way it hugs the seat post.
Finally, more notes about functionality and finishing touches. Like a stretchy bag on the top side.
These small boxes and arrows showed exactly what Jan imagined: the details that make a custom bag feel truly yours.
And here’s where the magic happened. Ewelina from Baby Legs Beyond took those rough lines and scribbles and transformed them into reality. She listened, translated our ideas into craftsmanship, and created a bag that wasn’t just close to Jan’s vision — it was Jan’s vision.
The result?
A one-of-a-kind, waterproof, perfectly fitted custom saddle bag — rugged, practical, and ready for every ride.
From idea → sketch → reality, it’s proof that collaboration, even starting from “crappy sketches,” can create something truly special if you have the right person on hand.
Huge thanks to Ewelina for making Jan’s dream bag come alive.
